The existing bus stand facilities are inadequate to handle the present and future volume of buses and commuters. Congestion, lack of proper passenger amenities, poor circulation of buses, and safety concerns are affecting efficient public transport operations.
The existing bus stand at Colachel is old and structurally deteriorated, with insufficient facilities to meet current operational and safety requirements. Colachel being a coastal town and a major movement point for daily commuters, fishermen, traders, and tourists, requires a reliable and efficient transport hub.
Mannargudi is a prominent agricultural and trading center in Tiruvarur District. The existing market facilities in Ward No.2 are inadequate, unorganized, and lack basic infrastructure such as proper stalls, drainage, sanitation, and waste disposal systems. This affects hygiene, public health, and smooth commercial activities.
Palani is a major pilgrimage town attracting a large floating population throughout the year. The existing bus stand, located at Survey No. 836/1A1, is under continuous strain due to heavy passenger inflow, especially during festival seasons. The present infrastructure is insufficient in terms of capacity, circulation, and amenities.
